Individual racers will pin a number to their shirt/jersey, a bike plate to the front of the bike and a sticker around their seat post, and the timing chip around their ankle with a velcro strap (provided)
For teams, the runner will affix a bib number to their shirt or shorts, the rider will attach a race plate to the front of the bike and numbered sticker to their seat post and the timing chip will be around the ankle of the rider, to be passed to the runner in the Transition Zone.
Runners will remain in the pre-race hold area, until the cyclists have all started their race, then head over to the Transition hold zone. As their team mates approach, they will head into the Transition Zone to take the timing chip and attach it to their ankle ( and repeat through the race)
Valuables : You can bring a bag/backpack (ideally waterproof) – there will be a table at the start funnel, where you can leave it safely, which we will relocate to the exit funnel before you finish.
Please note: Timing chips must be returned after your race – a volunteer will collect them from you
Hold Area: once you have checked in, you will be directed to a holding area – please head to an unoccupied cone and stay there until called into the start funnel or Transition hold zone.
Q: What gear is required?
A: Helmet use is mandatory for the bike legs. Mountain bikes with at least front suspension are recommended. The course is too rough and technical for a gravel bike or road bike. Trail running shoes are recommended – the run is on the smoothest section of the trail, but there are tree roots, rocks and it may be slippery if wet.
Q: How can I warm up before my race?
A: Please use the surrounding roads of Turf City and take caution to ensure you are back in time for your start time. It is advisable to do your main warm-up before safe entry. Once you are in the “holding area”, you can stretch, limber up on the spot only.
Q: Do you have medics on hand in case of emergency?
A: Yes we have a full medical team stationed at the event and ambulances on standby. Whilst we cover that cost, you will need to cover any additional cost for treatment or transport, by claiming on your insurance.
Q: Can I practice on the course?
Q: I’d like to help out (volunteer) on the day – is that possible?
A: Absolutely -possible, depending on Phase restrictions. We always need help running these events. Please drop us a message here.
